Rompin' around town

I live for a good romper. It makes getting dressed up so much easier when you only have to worry about slipping on one piece. I'm especially a fan of loss fitting silhouettes, that make navigating this Texas heat just a little bit easier. And this flower pattern? Oh my goodness, I'm obsessed.
And this little keyhole detail on the top makes it just flirty enough to wear on a date. I paired it with these darling cognac mules that are under 30 dollars!

I'll be rounded up my favorite summer rompers later this month, so stay tuned for that!
Until next time my sweet friends,

The Internship Series: Debunking the Myths

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

If you clicked on this post, it probably means you just landed your first internship! Congrats! You're one step closer to actually finding a job when you graduate, But now that you've gotten one you're probably wondering what the heck you're supposed to do now? Fear not girl, I'm here to help!

In my first series here at Almost It Girl, I'm navigating the sea of internships with you. From finally snagging one, to how to dress the part we're talking it all. First up? Debunking internship myths.

1) All you'll ever do is fetch coffee
Now I've only two internships, so I can't speak for every company but from what I know that's completely not true. Most companies want you to learn and grow not memorize their Starbucks order.

2) You should only stick to your "career field"
Take it from someone who changed their major her first semester of college, you probably have no idea what you want to do. And that's completely okay because interning is how you figure it out. Don't be afraid to get out of your comfort zone, and try things just because they sound like fun!
3) You have to have it all together,
This is by far the biggest myth, no one has it all together. But I'm here to help as much as I possibly can!
Hope this first post was helpful, and stay tuned for the next one!

Until next time my sweet friends,

Bell Sleeves & Flower Dreams

I am a huge fan of dresses. Especially ones you can dress up and down like this little number. Its loose fit makes it an absolute dream during these hot Texas summers. And look at these sleeves? How could you not love this thing?

Then there are these shoes. Y'all, the most comfortable heels I've ever worn. They give me a nice little bit of height without giving me aching feet. In the month since I've bought these, I think I've worn these 15 times. And the best part? They're under fifty dollars!

Sadly this exact dress is sold out, but I've linked all my picks for similar cuts and styles!

Miles to Magnolia

There are few things I am more obsessed with than HGTV. In particularly, Fixer Upper and Joanna Gaines. Y'all she IS my spirit animal. So when my mom suggested we take a day trip to the Magnolia Silos, I was over the moon excited. So I thought I'd bring you along!

Basically, if you aren't familiar with the Magnolia Market, it's a gorgeous market area located in Waco, TX with goods curated by Interior Designers Chip & Joanna Gaines. The area includes a garden, home goods shop, bakery and an array of food trucks.

We started our trip by heading into the market to purchase some things for the apartment I'll be living in during the school year, more on that later, but let's just say I bought way too much!

Then, we headed over to the adorable little bakery for a sweet treat. I tucked into these banana pudding cupcakes and was absolutely smitten. It was like biting into a little slice of heaven.

I could quite literally gush about this place for days, from the superior attention to detail, to the darling staff. If you ever find yourself near Waco, TX it is absolutely worth the trip.

Until next time my sweet friends,
Autumn

P.S - You can read all about the market right here!
